We were the first practice in East Grinstead to use digital imaging of the eye in 2003 and we now also have the revolutionary RTVue Fourier Domain Optical Coherence Tomographer.
FD-OCT (usually shortened to OCT) is a non-invasive equivalent to an MRI scan of the eye and is the first intrument to reveal ultra-high resolution cross sectional images of the eye. With photographs we see the surface of the retina and nerve, with OCT we can analyse the layers underneath where the damage first occurs and this is revolutionising the early detection of macular degeneration, glaucoma, diabetic and other eye diseases.
